What is a FreeHand Mei Tai?
The FreeHand is an asian mei tai style carrier. The Mei Tai baby sling design consists of a main panel of designer fabric, two long padded shoulder straps and two shorter waist straps.
How does it work?
You simply tie the FreeHand on like an apron, hold your baby on your chest, and pull the baby carrier snugly up around baby, cross the straps behind your back and tie them in front. Please view the online instructions for video guide on how to use a FreeHand mei tai baby sling.
What is the minimum and maximum weight?
The minimum weight is 5 lbs, and the maximum is 35 lbs.
How long are the top straps?
The top straps are 75 inches long and lightly padded. This should be long enough for almost any adult to comfortably use this baby carrier. One size fits most.
Can I use a FreeHand on my back or hip?
Yes, please see the online instructions page for video instruction on front, hip and back carry.
Is the FreeHand a good choice for a newborn?
Yes, because the FreeHand is very soft and supple, it will cradle your new baby. The lightly padded headrest gently holds baby's head, while the carrier supports the rest of their body. The FreeHand also helps babies who like to be swaddled, as it hugs them closely to your heart, and moves with you for all the sounds and movements baby knew in the womb.
How do I wash it?
Wash on cold, and hang to dry to prevent shrinkage.
We stock a wide range of funky baby carriers and baby slings to suit all pockets and styles - why not have a quick look yourself?
