further tales of a wondermummy road-tester.....

I love the fact that all of our maternity clothes have been tested by real life pregnant women. There was a time when all of our maternity wear was road-tested by yours-truly. Those days are now past (honest - they are, really, I'm getting a dog instead). Now its up to other people (pregnant of course) to fly the wondermummy maternity wear road-testing flag.
Our latest maternity clothes tester is Emily. She's got 2 little ones and one on the way. She was 20-odd weeks pregnant when she tried out our draw-string maternity trousers.
I have to say these maternity trousers are one of my favorite pieces in the wondermummy maternity clothes collection. In the photos you can see the style and shape. But what you can't see is the absolutely amazing softness of the brushed cotton fabric. Let me know when they invent feel-o-vision won't you?
In the meantime, to see what Emily makes of our maternity wear - read on.....
Emily - tales of a wondermummy road tester
I've been wearing these trousers between 24 and 26 weeks of pregnancy. I'd describe the style as casual, something for everyday wear but not really for the office or an evening out. These suit me well as a stay at home mum running around after two little ones. My trousers experience a high level of wear and tear!
The fit is good. I sometimes struggle to find trousers which are long enough, but the length on these is fine. The trousers are quite flattering too: they're fitted around the bum and hips and the drawstring ties neatly under my bump.
These trousers are very comfortable. The fabric is soft and nothing rubs or digs into my bump. I find the waist band slips down now and again which means I need to pull the trousers up. This usually happens when I'm bending or crawling around on the floor picking up toys. If my lifestyle were more sedentary they probably wouldn't slip down. The drawstring cord can be tightened to help them sit around my hips.
The chocolate brown colour goes well with most tops in my wardrobe. I find the most flattering look is with a fitted wraparound style top and a fitted jacket. As these trousers are great for messing about at home in, they also look fine with a t-shirt. They are definitely trousers to wear with flats, which is fine as I struggle to teeter about in heels while pregnant!
I've washed these a couple of times on a 30 degree wash and I've found a few washes makes the trousers even softer and comfier.
I feel confident these trousers will last me until the end of my pregnancy, I would like to wear them until then. Perhaps I can report back at around 40 weeks to let you know how they're doing...
